The buying model is what makes the floor worth checking regularly. 2nd STREET buys directly from the public at the counter, seven days a week, which means stock turns over constantly and reflects what people in the surrounding neighborhoods are actually clearing out of their closets. In DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights, that skews toward contemporary designer, Japanese labels, technical outerwear, and quality basics — with the occasional genuinely rare piece surfacing because the buyers price on condition and category rather than hype.

Pricing sits in the middle of the Brooklyn range: expect roughly $20–$60 for most clothing, more for designer outerwear and bags, less for the everyday basics rack. It is not the cheapest secondhand in Brooklyn — Bushwick and Flatbush win that comfortably — but the ratio of quality to price is strong, and the condition grading means you are very rarely surprised by a flaw when you get home.

Practically, this is the most reliable secondhand stop in DUMBO. Where Brooklyn Flea runs weekends from mid-March through December, 2nd STREET is open every day of the year from 11am to 8pm, which makes it the anchor for any DUMBO thrift trip and the obvious fallback on a winter weekday.
