Owl Tree Kids is a children's consignment and resale shop on Court Street, and it fills a gap the rest of Carroll Gardens' secondhand scene does not touch. Kids outgrow clothes in months rather than years, and a neighborhood full of young families produces a steady flow of barely worn pieces — Owl Tree is where that flow gets edited and resold.

Most of the floor is secondhand, with some new stock alongside it. Selling works on a consignment basis, by appointment only, so parents can bring outgrown clothing in rather than donating it.

The shop's own site lists it as open every day from 10am to 6pm; Google lists earlier weekend closing at 4pm, so call ahead before a weekend trip. Yesterday's News is a few blocks south on Court Street, and the Carroll Street F and G stop is nearby. A second Owl Tree Kids operates on Flatbush Avenue near Grand Army Plaza.
